Ticket Inspector

Short Description: Serves as a MBCOCustomer Service Ambassador with the focus on assuring customer compliance with the Proof of Payment fare policy.

• enforcement procedures to bus passengers for the purpose of ensuring their understanding and the potential consequences of violation.
• Intervenes in potential conflicts for the purpose of minimizing disruptions of Bus activities and/or injury to involved parties.
• Monitors Passengers, staff, during bus trip for the purpose of ensuring the safety and welfare of Passengers and staff.
• Prepares documentation (e.g. incident and activity reports, security logs, etc.) for the purpose of providing written support and/or conveying information.
• Refers incidents to appropriate site personnel (e.g. injuries, altercations, suspicious activities, etc.) for the purpose of ensuring follow-up in accordance with administrative guidelines.
• Reports observations and incidents relating to specific passenger (e.g. accidents, fights, inappropriate social behavior, violations of rules, etc.) for the purpose of communicating information to appropriate

• Minimum possession of a High School Diploma or equivalent.  Additional education is a plus.
• One year (two preferred) of work experience with extensive customer interaction.
• Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.  Must have good writing skills and the ability to report events and activities in a factual, clear and concise manner. 
• Ability to prioritize assignments and organize time accordingly.  Ability to work both independently and in a team environment.
• Strong personal and problem solving skills with the ability to be informative, patient, tactful, diplomatic, respectful, unbiased and ethical. 
• Ability to report to work on time and to work a flexible schedule, including days, nights, weekends and holidays.
• Ability to work outdoors at bus stops and on-board buses in all types of weather (hot/cold/rain)
• Some computer skills to include experience with MS Word, Excel, at a minimum.
