Freight Forwarding Manager

• Oversee all freight forwarding department activities
• Receive pre alerts and other documentation from origin station and ensure documentation is accurate and contains all required information.
• Acknowledge pre alert and notify customer of any discrepancy found in documentation.
• Track expected time of arrival of shipment
• Ensure shipment status information is communicated to customers
• Send arrival notification and reminders to customers
• Maintain regular communication with DHL Global Forwarding network worldwide.
• Prepare and oversee preparation of reports related to the freight forwarding department
• Monitor monthly ocean freight tonnage
• Maintain, grow, and build long term relationships with customers of Namma Cargo’s freight forwarding services
• Handle escalated customer inquiries
• Manage all major client accounts
• Provide customers with freight quotations

People Management:

• Supervise and direct employee work
• Continuously monitor employee performance and provide ongoing guidance and feedback.
• Conduct bi-annual staff performance reviews
• Carry out and facilitate training of employees

Department Performance 

• Monitor all freight forwarding
• Establish departmental and employee goals
• Monitor and report key performance parameters to ensure department is running as effectively and efficiently as possible
• Continuously identify opportunities for improving and enhancing the business
• Monitor and analyze all opportunities to cut costs and improve efficiencies
